notes Notes | Raritan Headwaters Association (RHA) was awarded a grant from the Royal Bank of Canada in 2021 to create an innovative program focused on the impacts of climate change within our watershed’s freshwater systems. RHA plans to conduct scientific monitoring and data communication to fill this crucial gap through our brand-new long-term monitoring program called Headwaters Sentinel Climate Stations throughout NJ’s Upper Raritan River watershed region. Raritan Headwaters is a member-supported 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that operates under the guidance of a Board of Trustees. We have 20 staff members, joined by an AmeriCorps watershed ambassador, nature educators, interns and a large and enthusiastic corps of volunteers. RHA serves as the watchdog for the 470-square-mile North and South Branch Raritan watershed, a region covering over 38 municipalities in New Jersey’s Hunterdon, Somerset and Morris counties.
